Description
UPDATE: Already some weeks ago I worked on a better version of my old self portrait cause I didn't like it anymore the way it was.I learned something about painting itself while I made those changes and so the technique has in my opinion nothing to do with a drawing anymore and so belongs to the drawing section finally.
I also cut the other person away cause I didn't like this part of the pic eitehr anymore.
THE OLD version is still linked below.
ORIGINAL description:
_______________
A witch is traveling through a forest. With the mighty powers of hers she has not to fear her own reflection which suddenly appears in front of her...
_______________
First of all, I made this pic to show something. Realism actually is not that hard; I used to work like that one year ago or so and then I was told don't do that. Because, I admit, I use tools to get that look: Like the smudge tool for the bright background, - and that's something I at least admit - as I used filters like lens flare for that pic because I simply love them.
Like my standart brushes.
But I think when people are allowed to copy my design style then I am allowed to show that I can paint in a different style as well.
*looks around*
I dropped Painter Classic. Needed my filters and layers to do this, so: Photoshop 7+ my Graphire 3.
PS: Almost forgot to say that cause this is a self portrait the reference was of course myself and I used some lightning references etc as well.
PPS: Why a self portrait? Cause my almost father wants me to make at least one self portrait per year.

I love how the lighted background looks, I can't really describe what I love about this... it's all a blur, everything is good.
You set the mood very well.
I love it.

Her nose... is it far too lit ? Copare with the upper right shoulder-blade, where skin is relatively light.

Try varying your edges a bit. Right now I'd say that everything has about the same level of detail, and depth. You could really push her shadow back in the distance with a couple of cooler colors, and remove that flat feel it has to it. Just a suggestion really, I think these are quite promising.
